I’M CONFUSED WITH TOO MANY MARITAL RULES

Why are there so many rules on whom to marry? Like; don’t marry your classmate, don’t marry your age mate, don’t marry a man that isn’t financially higher than you, don’t marry someone who is disvirgined etc I thought we can marry someone we love and loves us too and has the same faith as we do

  1. It is not actually a rule but just a suggestion or guidelines for a good home after marriage.

Class, age and financial status, are factors to consider before marriage but shouldn’t be the determinant or yardstick to make you choices.

It is highly recommended that you marry a person of the same faith and belief.

You can imagine a Christian getting married to a Muslim, can they ever pray together or discuss any issue about religion without ending in quarrel?
The same with a Catholic getting married to a Protestant, can they say the rosary together or have discussion on spirituality and belief without ending in disagreement?
When husband and wife disagrees in matter of faith, what becomes the fate of their children?

However, it is just necessary but not absolutely necessary to marry a person of the same belief.

It is also good to mention, that some have used mixed marriage as an opportunity to convert a soul or recover a lost sheep.
